What it does

Color laser printers transfer toner to a belt before it reaches the paper, and a small amount is scraped off each pass. The waste box holds it. Once full, the printer stops color printing until the box is swapped — there is no way to override it, and emptying it by hand is not a fix.

Capacity

Rated 50,000 pages, matching the genuine WT220CL. On a normal office duty cycle that is several years, and typically several sets of toner cartridges, per box.

No chip fitted

This part does not use a chip on these models. The printer detects a full box mechanically, so there is nothing to reset after fitting.

Fitting it

1. Open the front cover, then open the inner cover to reach the belt unit.
2. Pull the belt unit out, then lift the waste toner box free — keep it level so nothing spills.
3. Drop the new box into the same slot and press until it seats.
4. Refit the belt unit, close both covers. The counter clears on its own.
